Hey Y’all,
How’s it goin’; how ya been?
Fantastic, I hope.
Today, I thought it would be cool to do a pulse-check on my reading goal, since we’re about to bid adieu to February and say –hello– to March.
My Goal: Read 50 books this year.
50 is a stretch because 24 books is the most I’ve ever read in a year. As you can see, I’m aiming to double that number.
Number of Books Read In 2020: a whopping 3!
Since this is really the first time we’re talking about this reading goal, let’s get into some background.
The Reason Why I Set This Goal
Though 24 books is more than the average American reads in a year, I want to read more. There are so many books I’m interested in and even though I won’t get to them all, I want to pick up my pace so I can get to a few more.
50 books read per year is a solid number for me, and it’s probably the most books I’ll ever attempt to read in a year because, #life. I’m happy with that number.
Am I On Track?
At present, I should have about 8 books under my belt. But I’m currently reading #4.
I would need to read 4.7 books each month, for the next 10 months, in order to attain my goal.
Improvements I Can Make
I can read more during weekends. To be honest, that is much more feasible than reading more on weeknights.
My Obstacles
Ummm, about that. lol.
I don’t have any huge obstacles, only the common ones, I suppose like: being too tired to read, being distracted by other things, being wholly unfocused; and lazy-itis. I gotta keep motivated.
Those, and time. Gah, is there ever enough time these days?!
I’m definitely going to work on these.
Final Thoughts
Well, that’s my update guys!
Tell me: do you have reading goals for this year? If so, how are you faring so far?
Rocking it out? Tell me how you’re achieving your success.
Not quite on track? How do you plan to recover?
Until next time…Happy Reading!
All the Best,
♥ Ash
